Pokémon
- What are the starters/why?
- The starters are Eevee, Mienfoo, and Solosis.
Pokémon Sardonyx: Raised to Win is based heavily on a roleplay the developers were running in the mid 2010's. During the course of this roleplay, three characters (Jordan, Mary, and a character that has since been replaced by Rhodie) went to Shardil to receive their starters. Not knowing what sort of Pokémon to offer the players, Keileon rolled ten random basic Pokémon and allowed each player to select from this list. The starters chosen were the ones now being used as the game's starters.
- The starters are Eevee, Mienfoo, and Solosis.
- What's the dex like?
- The full National Dex is available immediately upon receiving the Pokédex, and all Pokémon up to the latest games should be obtainable at some point (either during the course of the game or via Mystery Gift). The game will also have several custom Mega Evolutions and Regional Variants; however, aside from custom forms, there will be no Fakemon included in the game.
- I have an idea for a Regional Variant or Mega!
- Unfortunately we do not take requests for Regional Variants, Mega Pokémon, or other forms. This is for a few reasons:
- We have several unrevealed variants and Megas, and do not want to state that we have specific Pokémon yet.
- We will not be making any more starter variants than we already have.
- We will not make regional legendaries or mythicals.
- There are specific Pokémon that we do not wish to design other forms for, or that are important enough to the story that a variant would be out of place.
- Unfortunately we do not take requests for Regional Variants, Mega Pokémon, or other forms. This is for a few reasons:
- How do I get [x Pokémon]?
- Try to find it on our wiki. If it's not on there, chances are it's unavailable.
- Will you be implementing new Pokémon?
- Short answer: yes, after a delay period. If the game it's in isn't out yet or literally just came out, the answer is "not yet".
Mechanics
- Type changes?
- Normal is now Super Effective on Fairy and Psychic, and resists both. This is for a few reasons.
- First, one of the developers felt that Psychic and Fairy were beginning to become overly powerful, with little able to stand up against some of the more competitively-used examples. Additionally, this developer felt that Normal has been too weak for too long, and decided that it needed a buff; thus, both of these problems were solved at the same time.
- Secondly, because of the starter Pokémon, a non-standard type matchup triangle was needed. While Fighting is Super Effective on Normal and weak against Psychic, Normal and Psychic have no interaction with one another. It was only a small adjustment needed to fix this problem.
- Thirdly, in most tellings of various legends, disbelief can kill fairies and cause psychic-like techniques (such as hypnosis) have no effect.
- The in-universe reason and explanation for this is that due to Altaris's harsh and unforgiving ecosystem, Normal-Type Pokémon were forced to rapidly adapt into a new ecological niche, as several types resist Normal and no type is weak to it naturally. Because of this, the Normal Type has undergone evolution in the biological and ecological sense.
- Poison is now Super Effective on Water, due to pollution and the ease of poisoning water supplies.
- Ice now resists Grass, Ground, and Water in addition to itself.
- Normal is now Super Effective on Fairy and Psychic, and resists both. This is for a few reasons.
- Move changes?
- Several moves have power, PP, or even type changed. In most cases this is a buff.
- Cut is now Steel and has 60 power.
- Strength is now Fighting.
- Hidden Power now has 80 power.
- Luster Purge and Mist Ball both now have 100 power.
- Cut is now Steel and has 60 power.
- Several moves have power, PP, or even type changed. In most cases this is a buff.
- How do I evolve trade evolution Pokémon?
- For most trade evolutions: there is an item called the Connecting Thread; level up while holding it.
- For trade evolutions involving an item: level up holding said item.
- This also applies to Inkay; it must hold the Hourglass when leveling up.
- For most trade evolutions: there is an item called the Connecting Thread; level up while holding it.
- My Pokémon stopped obeying me!
- In order to prevent players from overleveling and either breezing
through the game or sequence breaking a battle they were supposed to
lose, Pokémon will begin disobeying once they reach a specific level
before the cap is raised. Because most gym battles are completely
optional, we do not gate obedience by badges; instead, we gate it by
progress in the story. If a Pokémon begins disobeying you, stop training
it for a while and try to progress through the game in other ways.
You can check the obedience cap of your Pokémon at any time by calling Professor Spruce or speaking to EVO (under Stats).

- Will you be implementing challenge modes?
- Nuzlocke Mode: No. Due to the nature of the game and the very real possibility of Pokémon dying and the player receiving a Game Over, the developers feel as if the game will provide enough of a challenge for veteran players. We actively discourage attempting the game on a Nuzlocke challenge, particularly on a first playthrough.
- Randomizer Mode: Already implemented.
- Hard Mode: Already implemented.
- Will you be implementing new mechanics?
- Z-Moves: No.
- New Shiny Hunting methods: Unlikely, but on a case-by-case basis.
- Dual screens: No.
- Z-Moves: No.
- Will there be online features?
- Mystery Gift: Yes.
- GTS, Link Trades, Link Battles: We're hoping to. We just don't know how.

- Demo 3.

- What is a Deathmatch? What are Circuit Trainers? Can I revive dead Pokémon?
- A Deathmatch is exactly what it sounds like- a Pokémon
battle to the death. These are rare battles against specific NPCs (called Circuit Trainers) in the
overworld and occasionally as part of a story event. Pokémon that faint
in a Deathmatch are considered dead by the game and cannot be healed.
Aside from Hard Mode, nearly all Deathmatches are completely optional
(with a few exceptions). Hard Mode makes nearly all Deathmatches mandatory, so
be careful!
Players can recognize a Deathmatch through context, particular music, and more importantly through a prompt that forces the player to select only a single Pokémon. Optional Deathmatches can be retreated from during this prompt by selecting Cancel. - Eventually there will be a way to revive dead Pokémon. However, this is not in the foreseeable scope of our demos, and will most likely be a late- or post-game mechanic.

- What are Hole Trees?
- Hole Trees are large trees with holes in the trunk that players will encounter in the overworld. Interacting with the hole may yield an item, a Pokémon, or nothing. These respawn every 24 hours.

- How do I get HMs?
- HM functions are replaced by Key Items the player gets as they progress through the game. However, HMs themselves are available if the player searches hard enough. Currently, only Cut can be obtained as an HM, and only Cut and Rock Smash can be obtained as key items.

Story and Locations
- Is there any way to win against Zoltan in Rubina or Zemith at the Tempest?
- No, not under normal circumstances. A player may rarely get lucky with the randomizer. However, trying to win isn't recommended, as the game will boot you back to the title screen.
- Any tips for beating Zoltan at Ironis Black Market?
- Sylveon (if you started with Eevee), Alolan Raticate, Mr. Mime, Mawile, and Mimikyu are all available by this point and some of the best options for this battle.
- If you started with Solosis, Duosion's Light Screen will be helpful. Other Pokémon with this move that do not take Super Effective damage from Ice, Dragon, Water, or Electric are also options.
- Altaran Manectric has been proven to be a good option.
- You may get very lucky with the AI and be able to KO Zoltan's Pokémon with Altaran Pidgeotto.
- How do I progress?
- When in doubt: check your quest log or talk to EVO (under What Am I Doing?)
- If that doesn't provide any hints, try to leave the city.
- The current demo ends while you are waiting for the boat at Ironis and the story will not progress any further.
- Where is Margot?
- If you have the quest from Ophrys, run around Amaris until you find her. She is very hard to miss when on-screen.

- Where is Ophrys?
- If you've just spoken to him at the café, his house is the short building between two towers. It's near a patch of grass in southern Amaris.

Contact and Support
- What devices can I play on?
- The team can only guarantee that this game will be playable on computers running a Windows OS.
While we are aware that it is possible to port RPG Maker XP games to Mac, we do not know how to do this and likely will not attempt it until/unless players seem to want a Mac version of the game.
It is not possible to play this game on mobile devices and likely never will be due to how RPG Maker XP works.

- I found a bug!
- Please send screenshots and detailed information about the bug through
one of the contact methods listed below. It is preferred that you give
us the following information:
- Whether you are using the latest patch of the game (if not, try patching and see if that fixes things)
- Whether it can be reproduced and how to do so
- Any error message that the game gives
- If reporting a tile error or dialogue error, exactly where and when the error occurred
- In rare cases, we may ask what gender you are playing as and what
starter you chose. This is due to how condition branches work in RPG
Maker XP.

- The team is actively looking for the following roles:
- Musician/Composer
- Tile spriters
- Pokémon spriters
- Backup coder/scripter
- Anyone experienced in hosting a server for online features
- We
also wish to look into at least one artist willing to do concept,

- Can I post this game on my website?
- Please read our Download Safety Disclaimer for further information.
The short answer is yes, if we are properly linked to and credited. Do not host a download of the game on your site; please link to the Downloads page instead. Do not use adfly, CutURLs, or any similar URL shortener as a link to us. This is illegal. Because we are a fangame under Nintendo's intellectual property, no monetary profit can legally be made from any media relating to this project.
If you find any websites doing this, please contact us immediately.
- Please read our Download Safety Disclaimer for further information.
- Can I use your assets?
- Our project contains assets and resources that are both custom and free
to use with credit, or are used with permission from the creator.
- Our
fully custom assets are not freely available. You are welcome to ask,
but there's a very large chance that we will say no. This applies mainly
to Regional Variants and character designs; we will likely be more
lenient with more generic assets.
- We do not presume to have the
authority to directly give you public resources, but we will link you to
our source when possible. From there you are welcome to look into the
terms of use yourself.
- We also cannot provide permission for
non-public assets that we ourselves have permission to use. We will link
you to the source when possible, and you can ask the creator yourself.

to use with credit, or are used with permission from the creator.
- How should I contact Ragnarok Raven?
- We prefer Discord or Contact Form. Our threads on Relic Castle and PokéCommunity are not often checked, and Keileon forgets to check Twitter unless she's posting something there.
